Platelet-rich plasma is a concentrate of own human platelets and growth-stimulating factors contained in them. Platelet-rich plasma contains 1000000 platelets / mm3, which is equal to double or triple concentration of platelets in the whole blood with pH 6.5 – 6.7. Being non-toxic and non-reactive, the autogenous (own) platelet-rich plasma stimulates regenerative processes of the human body. Growth factors (platelet factor (PDGF); insulin-like growth factor (TGF-beta); epidermal growth factor (EGF); fibroblast growth factor (basic FGF); vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), contained in plasma, stimulate fibroblasts to produce collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin. This process promotes formation of a new intercellular matrix and the growth of micro-blood vessels. This therapy helps restoring metabolic processes, activating tissue immunity, improving microcirculation and cellular metabolism, stimulating production of collagen and elastin, and normalizing cell respiration.

How the procedure is done?
The procedure involves atraumatic collection of patients’ blood into evacuated blood collection tubes with inert selective membranes where erythrocytes are separated from platelets. In the patient’s presence, platelet-rich plasma gel is prepared using the high-speed centrifugation method, and is ready to be injected. During the procedure we use special vacuum tubes with separating gel based on sodium citrate or heparin (an anticoagulant which prevents blood clotting and platelet aggregation”, special-purpose centrifuges and disposable consumable materials. Clinical studies conducted in accordance with international standards showed that during centrifugation 90% of whole blood platelets remain in plasma and survive after being injected into derma. It is important to note that the design of certified test tubes prevents blood from contacting with environment, thus allowing for no risk of infection. Moreover, the blood will not coagulate.
